History: This Belgian woven jacquard wall art tapestry is titled, "Aristoloche" or "large leaves". The Aristoloche tapestries were in fashion in the middle of the 16th century a pivotal changing point in the middle ages. They were primarily woven in the highly praised mills of Audernarde, Frammont, and Enghien in Flanders. Here you see Aristoloche leaves with animals, mainly birds and deer among the foliage.
