History: | Chateau Bellevue Square Tapestry is but one in a series of twelve tapestries (each reflecting a month of the year) commissioned by King Louis XIV in the late 1600s. Known as the Tapestries of the Royal Households designed by painter to the King Charles le Brun oversaw 250 weavers in producing the tapestry. Our Bellevue Wall Tapestry is inspired by le Brun's 8th tapestry in the series representing August. It is woven expertly in France from luxurious wool and cotton.
