History: | Design for Chinoiseries II was originally created in the mid-18th century, by Jean Pillement, for the Haroue castle in Lorraine (eastern France) as part of a set called the Salons Chinois. This French impressionist jacquard woven tapestry wall hanging evokes a Japanese flowered garden framed within an orange border and sky blue backdrop, small human Fae figures playfully float in the air with butterflies and birds as the others stand within the pavilion. A wonderfully whimsical piece to add to your home decor motif. |
